Nick Jaramillo Bio:
Nick Jaramillo first ventured into the low voltage industry over 30 years ago as a means of paying for his Associate of Applied Science degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology. Once he graduated, Nick moved to Phoenix, Arizona to work for the Intel Corporation as a Process Engineering Tech. While working for Intel Nick found that he enjoyed the work he did in the field of low voltage and that he could apply his education to the area of low voltage; after all, the principles of electricity remain the same regardless of device, system, or equipment. While in Arizona, he started his first business, Security Concepts, Inc. He worked for Security Concepts, Inc. on his off time from INTEL, working from his apartment. After four years at Intel, he turned his full attention to Security Concepts, Inc. He built the business into a reputable security alarm company with customers that included large organizations such as Goodwill Industries, the YMCA, the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, and the Cornerstone Fellowship Church. More than a decade later, he sold Security Concepts, Inc., to start his second business venture, this time in the telecommunications industry. With just a small investment, Nick founded and built NICO Communications Corp into a million dollar a year business in less than three years.
In his role as a small business owner, Nick has worked with, managed, and personally trained over 100 installers, technicians, and support employees over the years. Many of those employees had little to no experience in or knowledge of the low voltage industry. Nick developed his own training program to ensure that those who worked for him had what they needed to succeed in the field. For Nick, it didn’t matter so much whether potential employees had knowledge in low voltage installations; rather, he valued hard workers who were adaptable and had a desire to learn. After all, it’s these characteristics that helped him to succeed in the low voltage industry as a contractor competing against larger businesses with far more resources. Nick knew that as a contractor, it’s important to be able to adapt and learn quickly on the job as there is only one opportunity to get the job done right.
Professionalism, high quality work, and the ability to get the job done correctly on the first try, within budget and timelines, has earned Nick a reputation as a go-to person for low voltage installations. He has more than 10,000 low voltage installations, totaling millions of dollars, under his belt.
Nick moved his young family to San Antonio, Texas, where he is currently raising his children. Nick established B2B Alarms, LLC, in 2013, as a low voltage integration design firm, again proving his ability to stay ahead of the trends in the industry. As technology has become increasingly interconnected, there is a greater need for installation services for low voltage systems. Nick currently holds five Texas licenses and remains very active in the day to day operations. Nick’s roles with B2B Alarms, LLC includes General Manager, Lead Project Manager, Designer and Technical Trainer.
